14-year-old girl pretends to be kidnapped

A 14-year-old Austrian girl played out self-fabricated scenario as if she was kidnapped for fear that she might be scolded for having been absent from school for seven days. According to Austria Times, the unnamed school girl presumed to be kidnapped in conspiracy with her friend based on a similar story in movies as her teacher informed her mother of her absence. When her mother called her, she made her friend lie that she was kidnapped. The girl even demanded a ransom through her friend. He mother reported it to the police immediately after hearing her daughter via phone call. Police found the girl at her friend’s home via GPS of the calls. She confessed she lied in a 7-hour police investigation. “I feared my mother would know my absence from school. I thought if I was kidnapped, she should be worried, not furious,” the girl said.
