App to help catch sexual offenders in subway cars

SK Networks Service announced plans to introduce a system that makes the process of reporting and arresting sexual offenders simple and quick in real time. Once the application is downloaded into a smartphone and the location based service (LBS) is in play, victims are able to report to a nearby police box to arrest assaulters on the spot, a company spokesman said Wednesday. The system offers two ways to notify authorities. One method is the “immediate mobilization service” which promptly transmits the information to both the National Police Agency and to nearby policemen on duty. The nearest officers in the area can rush to the scene. In case of fear of immediate assault, the victim can inform police of the location of possible attackers, which is automatically stored in the server of the police agency. SK네트웍스서비스는 "관계기관과 협력해 가까운 시일내에 고객에게 서비스가 제공될 수 있도록 할 계획"이라고 말했다. "한 번의 터치만으로 간편하게 신고된다”고 덧붙였다.
