Man, 87, kills cheating wife, 90, over affair with toyboy, 80

A jealous husband aged 87 murdered his 90-year-old wife after catching her with another man, Metro in Britain reported in its Internet edition. José Ramirez Ugalde stabbed Elsa Bernales Tobar in the neck with a kitchen knife after finding an 80-year-old neighbor in their home. The couple, who had three children, had been married for 50 years before Ramirez attacked Mrs Bernales at their flat in Santiago, Chile. Police chief Cristian Montalva said: ‘When he arrived home at 10 p.m. he noticed the presence of a neighbor. His wife was lying down in their bedroom.’ ‘Presuming she had become intimate with the neighbor, he went to the kitchen, took a weapon, returned to the bedroom and killed her. ‘The motive for the crime was jealousy.’ Ramirez Ugalde, a retired electrician, was arrested for murder and was remanded in custody when he appeared in court on Dec 10. He faces between five and 40 years in prison.
